Studying at Trinity College and staying at St. Lukes Compound, I met a lot this people. hey,to them it is just an expression but believe me, culturally and morally IGOROT pa rin sila. the heck they love pinikpikan, 4X4 and they play the gongs very well……….I think being an IGOROT is a pride…..I am vey proud to be an IGOROT.

I am too ashame of that girl’s comments..totally ignorant of her own rich Indigenous culture. I grew up in Australia so that makes me an Australian right? But I still have deep appreciation of my Igorot Sagada-Bauko Bagnen tribal background. Man so what if u grew up in Manila..it just shows your pathetic attitude..u have not learnt respect at all imbecile brat girl tseeeeee uneducated and uncivilise human being….I am very proud to be an Igorot…and I will instill to my children to be of their rich Igorot culture.

i once met online the son of an Ifugao international civil servant whose surname was unmistakably Ifugao but denied any connection to the Ifugaos. I was nonplussed.

i feel sorry for this ‘confused’ person for saying those words but most of all to her parents for not instilling igorot values maybe the parents is not a proud igorot themselves.I reckon if by choice she denies to be an Igorot then she doesn’t deserve to be one.

I’ve heard this ‘joke’ from a journalist friend of mine from Baguio back in the late ’70′s. He told this joke to ridicule those Igorots who are ‘mapilot’ of their ethnic identity.

It was really a pathetic comment. But let us give her a break. She must have matured by this time and has learned to appreciate her Igorot heritage.
